From Miss Chipster to Miss Singapore

Posted by: dweam on: April 8, 2008

After nights on end of learning how to walk, the 21 girls took stage last night at Raffles City.

The Semis! The shiny backdrop is awesome. In fact, it lights up! And if you’re standing behind it, you can see the silhouette of whoever’s there! Classy!

From 21 they chose 16, and I made it through! YAYYYYYYY!

There was two segments – the evening gown segment and the bikini/swimwear section. There was also the QnA, which we tackled in our evening gown. The questions were apparently “random” questions but actually required some thought. They ranged from healthy lifestyle, to terrorism and of course, women. My question was rather hard, “How or when do you think is a good time to retire?” Wo0t! I was quite stunned at first. But managed to give a good answer (in my opinion at least) that there shouldnt be such a thing called retirement, because as long as one is physically and mentally fit, he/she should contribute back to society.

*STANDING OVATION*
*APPLAUSE*

Hahaha! WORLD PEACE!

The gowns were all long and gorgeous, sponsored kindly by LuVie! While the swimwear was from Bella Kini. I love the way the bikinis fit on me cause, I DONT LOOK SO FLAT IN IT! Hahaha. The cut was really flattering and if Im not wrong, were the Brazilian cut ones. I am so buying my bikini!

The night opened with sexay belly dancers and the introduction of us in our swimwear.

There were 5 groups in total and I was the last of the last group. LOL. Can you spot me?

After the introduction, we came out one by one in our elegant gowns.

Look at the rainbow of dresses. Pretty! Everyone looks so standardized! Nice.

All may be glamourous on stage, but here are some shots backstage.

The mess that makes us beautiful. Haha.

Picture of my super long gown. Haha. Can you believe LuVie had to extend my gown? Hahaha. Mine was a toga-styled dress with tiny diamante jewels stuck onto the front. Sch-weeet!

I had a group of screaming “fans” when I took my walk down the runway. Other than mum, dad and my brother who sat in the VIP area, the SPI-ders came down to support! Awwwwwwwwww!

Even Baby Zac was there too! SOOOO cute! I could see him waving from the back of the crowd. Haha. Thanks to Kexin.

Baby Zac at dinner. Haha. So cute!
He was trying to feed himself with those small dishes you use to put sauce in. Haha.
HUNGRY BABY ALERT!

Thanks to Qiao and Marcus who came down too! So unexpected! I was so surprised to see them when they turned up near the back stage.

The past few days during rehearsal also passed by in a jiffy! And I’ve already found some nice new friends amidst a familiar face. Haha.

During rehearsal at Carribean.

Fitting of our bikinis! Hawtttt babes emerge from the same toilet. Lol.

With the girls.

Although we pulled a late night on Friday, Daryl was very nice to us and BOUGHT US PIZZZZZZA! WHOOOOOOOOOHOOOOO! This is pictorial evidence that THIS beauty queen EATS.

Pizza AND chicken wing

Guess how many slices of pizza I ate?! HAHAHAHA. No prizes for the right answer though. Just know that I ate ALOT. LOL.

Beauty queens should also learn to be experts at applying/touching up their make up on the MRT train.

But of course, not without the help of a dear friend who was my mirror holder for the 15 minutes. Haha.

Pretty Vonzie.

And so, the challenge now is the FINALS! Which will be held on May 20th. Hahaha. Thank you all lovelies for your much appreciated support. The jewelry and dress sponsor will still be the same people but of course, they’ll provide different items. Jewelry for the night was big, chunky and beautiful! Made from semi-precious stones and pure silver, we were clad in Beneath the Stars jewelry for both the swimwear and evening gown segments! Awesome. I really thought the pieces went well with each and every one of our gowns. Both the gowns and the jewelry were specially designed by the respective designers themselves.

How creative! Cant wait for our next MSU meeting! We get free dentals and sponsored facials too! WHOOOOOOOOOOO!

waiting for your great news!!!

No offense, but… it’s not like the competition is very strong out there. This is like some kind of Marie-France lineup: “We used to be fat and ugly, but now we’re skinnier. And possibly less ugly.”

Good luck with being pronounced the least ugly of the uglies!
