My Kiddos

Posted by: dweam on: June 13, 2009

Okay. After a week of no updates, here is a long post with lovely photos. Somehow I’ve been unofficially appointed as the school’s co-photographer without my knowledge. The teachers had a meeting and the next thing I knew, I was rostered as photographer for the Cross Country Carnival at MacRitchie which happened on Wednesday. Not [...]

A Pick-up Line from a 9 year-old

Posted by: dweam on: May 14, 2009

I think I just got picked up by a good-looking 9 year old in school. Hahaha. He leans in close, looks at my teeth, looks up at me, smiles warmly and says, “Miss Valerie. I think your teeth are really white.” Hahahahahahaha. I think that’s the best pick-up line I’ve ever heard so far.

Decisions

Posted by: dweam on: February 6, 2009

We all make decisions on a daily basis. But making important crucial ones are always emotionally draining, on top of already having to remember a million and one things to do. The workload is picking up and there’s always tonnes to do; nitty gritty details to plan for and loopholes to patch. But I have [...]

I’m Still Here! says the Soccer Player

Posted by: dweam on: January 24, 2009

I’m still alive. Swamped under work, but still barely breathing. The past 2 weeks have been exhausting although my temporary workload didnt require me to be on my feet as I normally would. Im actually glad that post Chinese New Year festivities, I resume duties back in school. Under-stimulated is an understatement. The 6 week [...]

I get paid to play. My office is Toys ‘R’ Us – the mini version. We’ve got Wii, Xbox 360, tonnes of computer games and all sorts of lovely toys! But we dont get techy stuff all the time. Sometimes we get to play really cool board games. Like Blokus. Or even this! DEAL OR [...]

I am ALIVE!

Posted by: dweam on: January 9, 2009

No I am not dead. Although I have been dead tired the past few days and acquired some new found stress. I churned out a three month lesson plan in 2 over hours. That’s pretty amazing considering the fact that I planned almost 2 months worth of activities ON THE SPOT. *pats self on the [...]

New Beginnings

Posted by: dweam on: January 3, 2009

It’s only the third day of the new year and I’ve already been bequeathed with an important position that I will have to fill within the coming months. Not that I didnt already know I had a part to play in the Group because schedules were already released last year. But now the new year [...]

Back to School: “Santa is Dead”

Posted by: dweam on: December 10, 2008

The issue of Santa arises most frequently at this time of year especially among kids, especially when brightly wrapped presents with big flourishing bows are expected under the lavishly decorated Christmas tree. Ohhhh.. Im going to get a really big present this year! What about you? Everyone is comparing to see who receives the biggest, [...]

Back to School: Proper Sentences

Posted by: dweam on: November 18, 2008

Spotted today on a kid’s grammar review test paper today. I guess it doesnt really matter what the answer to the question is as long as you answer with a proper sentence? Hahaha. So next time someone asks, “How does your cat look like? Is he cute?” You say, “I am seven years old.” Haha!
